LiPSTIKKA

Director: Jonathan Sagall
Producers: Guy Allan and Jonathan Sagall
Drama, 90 mins

LiPSTIKKA is a psychological drama, depicting the reunion of two London-based Palestinian girls and their markedly different recollections of a life-changing incident with the Israeli military in Jerusalem four years earlier.

Director Jonathan Sagall premiered this subtle film about love, loss and the power of memory at the Berlin International and Toronto Film Festivals in 2011.

We were proud to provide full sound post-production for this celebrated feature.

As well as being nominated for Best Israeli Feature at the Jerusalem Film Festival, LiPSTIKKA won Nataly Attiya and Moran Rosenblatt a joint Best Actress Award for their portrayal of Inam.

Lara and Inam, two Palestinian teenage girls from the West Bank, friends and more than friends, decide to break the Israeli military’s curfew during the 1st Intifada and sneak into the Jewish quarter to see a movie. The events of that night will change the course of their lives – but when they are reunited in London four years later, they find their memories of what happened don’t match up. In the space between memories and reality lies the key to their very different lives.
